Blockchain technology is a growing area of interest for business leaders in nearly every industry.  The term, Blockchain has often been misused as being synonymous with Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.  However it is a much broader technology capability, and one with much legitimate disruptive potential.   This session aims to address the questions:  What is Blockchain and how is it different from Cryptocurrency? What are some current and future applications of Blockchain technology?  How could Blockchain protect businesses and individuals from cyber-crime? Additionally, the session will provide an explanation of how Blockchain works, how cyber security plays a role in the need for this type of technology, and how Blockchain is presently applied and how it has the potential to become applied to industries throughout the world.
