"This morning's conference was great!  It was a wide range of participants on the panels and that was a great way to hear a wide view of options and ideas from the panelists!  Kevin Hancock gets my vote for most open, honest and helpful answers to questions. He was outstanding and his thoughts today were very heartfelt and honest.  Take away the layers of "facade" and discuss the truth of what it's like and how you face the issuers."

Next Generation Peer Advisory Group - Leaders in Transition
"Passing the Baton: Letting Go and Preparing Yourself, Your Family, and Your Business for the Next Chapter"

This roundtable-style program is for owners of family-businesses who are in various stages of transition. Peer leaders will share from their own experience, both what has worked and what they have found challenging. Individuals will have the opportunity to discuss concerns and learn from each other.

Typical discussion topics include the experience of preparing the next generation to take over the reins, tackling barriers to letting go (and the consequences to not doing so), and personal hopes/concerns about the next chapter of their lives. The roundtable will last 1.5-2hrs.

The purpose of this peer group is to provide leaders with a confidential forum during which they will have the opportunity to process with and learn from other leaders. Participants will likely be in many different stages of transition.

Sharon Dorsett will facilitate the session and contribute her thoughts as she has worked with many family-owned businesses. If the participants would like to continue this venue, we will look to other dates and times for future meetings. As members of the IFOB, there is no cost to participate.  Just your time and talent! Participants are welcome to bring a friend and/or a spouse to this program as well.

For this meeting, we will have guest speakers, Frank O’Shea, who is our Board Treasurer and Partner with BerryDunn and Seth Webber, Partner, BerryDunn.  Below are the details.
