"This morning's conference was great!  It was a wide range of participants on the panels and that was a great way to hear a wide view of options and ideas from the panelists!  Kevin Hancock gets my vote for most open, honest and helpful answers to questions. He was outstanding and his thoughts today were very heartfelt and honest.  Take away the layers of "facade" and discuss the truth of what it's like and how you face the issuers."

Women in Family Business -
find your focus: master the skill of avoiding distractions

Join the Institute for Family-Owned Business (IFOB) for this Women in Family Business Program on Thursday, June 7 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Gilsland Farm Audubon Center. This workshop will fall under this year’s theme at the IFOB: Inspiration & Perspiration: Strategies & How To’s for Family-Owned Business.

Registered Maine Guide Priscilla Hansen Mahoney will lead participants through an interactive “walkshop” during which they will explore the elements of designing a “MAP” (Motivational Action Plan) and a Company Compass to help them gain clarity, direction, and focus in achieving their business goals. The objectives for this program include:

  • Learning the three tools needed to stay on track, on time, and on purpose
  • Creating a MAP (Motivational Action Plan) to develop direction and focus
  • Finding out what a Company Compass is, and learning how to dial in direction in order to stay on track

This “walkshop” will take place at the Gilsland Farm Audobon Center where participants can walk the trails, observe wildlife from the observation blinds, explore the pond, and visit the apple orchard and the peony garden. Refreshments will be provided. Participants should bring their walking shoes for this beginners stroll.
