"This morning's conference was great!  It was a wide range of participants on the panels and that was a great way to hear a wide view of options and ideas from the panelists!  Kevin Hancock gets my vote for most open, honest and helpful answers to questions. He was outstanding and his thoughts today were very heartfelt and honest.  Take away the layers of "facade" and discuss the truth of what it's like and how you face the issuers."

Our professional panel will talk about the updated legal, health, HR and banking information and will be available to answer the audience’s specific questions.

Now, more is revealed in the COVID-19 pandemic. Being a few months into this, companies have had some time to implement and adopt new strategies in the way they do business, while others are completely shut down. We discuss how they are finding ways to adapt, maintain, recover, and take preventative measures to prepare for the future. Join us as we are eager to share new findings in the current economic state.

David Ciullo of Career Management Associates (CMA) will be moderating our professional panel and will guide us in current HR practices. Tawny Alvarez from Verrill Law will give us an update on the legal practices and will answer some of the most anxiously asked questions. Bill Bourassa from Harvard Pilgrim Health Care adds in the health perspective and impact on the healthcare industry. Steve Krolikowski from Key Private Bank talks about banking and business lending.   We'll also hear from Scott Riccio from Northeast Charter & Tour Company who's had to completely shut down this business.

Send us any questions in advance through our registration link.

Despite the chaos, the Institute for Family-Owned Business is here to help support our members and friends of our professional community through virtual networking, connection of current resources and virtual programs. Our panelists include:

Tawny Alvarez, Partner, Verrill Law
Tawny prides herself on helping clients comply with the law while simultaneously creating an amazing place to work. She centers her practice on the understanding that the employment landscape is ever-changing and organizations do not have the time or resources to keep abreast of all these changes—from medical (and recreational) marijuana’s effect on drug testing to the effect of social networking in the workplace, including the effect of the use of mobile devices on wage and hour issues. In this evolving landscape, Tawny recognizes that for companies to remain profitable and successful they must be proactive, not merely reactive, to these issues.

As many of these issues are swiftly evolving, Tawny prides herself on keeping current on these developments in the workplace and is skilled at crafting cost-effective solutions for adapting to them. She sensibly recognizes that one-size representation does not fit all, and focuses her practice on providing creative, cost-effective, and individualized labor and employment counseling and representation to clients while maintaining the culture that they have worked so hard to construct.

Bill Bourassa, Director of Sales (Maine), Harvard Pilgrim Health Care
With more than 25 years of experience in health care sales and account management, Bourassa is responsible for strategic development, managing key customer/broker relationships, leading the sales team and sales growth in the Maine marketplace.

He has served as Director of Client Services for HUB International New England’s Maine operation, where he held sales, account management and supervisory roles over the past 17 years. He began his career in 1993 with AIG Insurance Company selling property & casualty insurances throughout Maine. He soon moved to the brokerage side of the business and in 1998 he entered the employee benefits field.

Bourassa earned his bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Plymouth State University and holds a Life and Health Insurance License in the State of Maine.

David graduated from Norwich University with a BS degree in Business Administration, a minor in management, and had four years of ROTC in the Norwich Corp of Cadets. David is also certified in Creative Training Techniques, is an Eagle Scout, and a Black Belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. David enjoys giving back through donation of time to help students with their career goals.

Tony DiSotto, Senior Vice President, Key Private Bank Market Leader, Key Private Bank

DiSotto holds a bachelor’s degree from Colby College and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Norwich University.  His involvement in the community includes acting as board treasurer for Milestone Recovery, board member with Scarborough Youth Football, and a volunteer with Scarborough Little League.  He lives in Scarborough, Maine with his wife and two children.

Scott Riccio, Northeast Charter & Tour Co.
