Timothy Forte, Business Insurance Account Executive, Clark Insurance
A resident of South Portland, Maine, Timothy serves as an account executive on Clark’s business insurance team. He joined the insurance industry in 2015, starting his career at Liberty
Mutual before joining Clark Insurance in 2018. Through the years, Tim has developed extensive experience working on insurance programs for businesses in the real estate, construction, manufacturing, and Tech industries. Tim grew up in Keene, New Hampshire where he graduated from Cushing Academy and Southern New Hampshire University. When he isn’t working he enjoys golf, skiing, and hockey, and engaging with industry organizations like the Maine Real Estate & Development Association (MEREDA) and the Professional Logging Contractors of Maine (PLC). Some insurance industry accreditations Tim has earned are his Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC), and Workers Compensation Professional (WCP) designations.
Shelly Pray, Vice President, Bangor Savings Bank
Shelly Pray, Vice President and Senior Treasury and Payment Services Officer at Bangor Savings Bank, has over 35 years of banking experience beginning her career at Norstar Bank as a teller and then as a Senior Loan Administrator with Fleet Bank in the Commercial Banking
Division. Over the last 18 years and most recently at Bangor Savings Bank, Shelly has held roles in cash management working with complex corporate, municipal, and nonprofit organizations to help them create operational efficiencies, mitigate fraud, and enhance their overall operations strategy including cash utilization. Shelly has lived and worked in the Portland region for the last 25 years. Shelly received her Commercial Lending Diploma from AIB and is a member of the New England Association of Financial Professionals.
Derek Volk, CEO, Volk Packaging Corporation
Derek Volk is the owner of Volk Packaging Corporation, a third-generation family-owned and operated corrugated box manufacturer in Biddeford, Maine. He has been working at Volk Packaging since high school and has been running the company for 20 years. Derek is a Maine businessman, best-selling author, former radio personality, and
nationally recognized public speaker. He is a grateful supporter of veterans’ organizations and created the Volk Packaging Heroes Wall as a way to honor members of the US Armed Forces, past and present. After sharing their story about raising a child with autism through a book and at conferences around the country, Derek, along with his family, was named the 2015 Spurwink “Humanitarian of the Year.” That same year, Maine Biz named Derek to their NEXT List, recognizing him as one of Maine’s business trailblazers. In 2021, Derek was inducted into the Manufacturer’s Association of Maine’s “Manufacturer’s Hall of Fame.”
